About Arlene

Arlene has been working in Colorado for many years and has often said how lucky she is to be here! While Arlene has held many professional positions throughout the years, she has never strayed from her passion to help infants and toddlers who are deaf or hard of hearing and their family members. As the EHDI Director (again!), she is as excited about her work as she was in the early 70s when she relocated to Denver from Philadelphia. Arlene can honestly say that she is as inspired now as she was then. She feels rejuvenated by the tasks at hand.

Arlene works a lot. But, she also has a lot of fun. Boulder stole her heart from the day she arrived. It felt like home at first sight. She spends a lot of time hiking. Just in one week earlier this summer, Arlene drove one hour and was hiking above timberline in national forest. In the past four months, she has had the pleasure of enhancing her creativity in the kitchen. Arlene loves to cook and, with restaurants barely open these days, she has more opportunities than ever before to create. While Zoom comes naturally to her, she does miss traveling. Along with the rest of you, Arlene had to cancel wonderful trips with her husband. They had plans in place to visit Japan, Sardinia, Corsica, Baltimore, New York, and Philadelphia. Instead, Arlene has practiced her hand at gardening. She likes that too.
