Hola, My name is Janet Delgado. I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I have been profoundly deaf since birth. I have degrees in Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master in Deaf Education. The following three different schools to complete the education are the University of Puerto Rico, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Rochester.
I have been working in deaf education for more than 15 years supporting a myriad of deaf kids of different ages and different backgrounds. I feel so inspired to help deaf kids to succeed at school. I learned ASL in my late 20s. ASL is a visual and natural language any deaf child can learn. I am so passionate to learn a new language and new cultures. I am a trilingual speaker with Spanish, English and ASL. In my free time, I like to spend time with my husband and two sons, painting, drawing, doing outdoor activities: hiking with my dog MollieJo and traveling overseas. I am looking forward to being part of your team to help do the best for your deaf child.
