Robin Getz is a New York City native who grew up living in different places nationally and internationally. She has a profound bilateral hearing loss which was identified just before her first birthday. She was a successful, lifelong hearing aid user and has since received cochlear implants, later in her adult life. Robin uses primarily spoken language; however, she is also fluent in American Sign language, can converse in Spanish, and is a beginning cued speech user.
Robin has worked with deaf/hard of hearing individuals of all ages throughout her professional career. Initially, she worked as a licensed mental health therapist for 8 years until she realized her heart was in the early intervention field. She has since worked as an early interventionist and coordinates early intervention services and supports for families who have young children ages 0-3 with hearing differences for over 20 years now.
Robin is married to a great guy and they have two wonderful adult children, along with a menagerie of animals. She enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and trying different ethnic restaurants with her family and friends. Robin is looking forward to connecting with you and your family and sharing experiences!
